Message from the Superintendent

Happy New Year, Families, Educators, and Staff!
As we step into this bright and exciting new year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all the incredible growth and learning we experienced together in the past year. Now is the perfect time to approach the classroom with renewed energy, fresh perspectives, and a deep commitment to the impact we have on the lives of our students.
The start of a new year brings the opportunity to embrace new ideas, challenge ourselves to be innovative, and continue fostering a learning environment where creativity and curiosity thrive. Together, we can inspire new passions, ignite a sense of wonder, and cultivate the critical thinking skills our students need to succeed both in school and beyond.
As we move forward, let’s remember that every challenge is an opportunity for growth and every moment is a chance to make a difference. Your passion, dedication, and hard work shape the future, one student at a time, one lesson at a time.
Here’s to a year filled with fresh inspiration, exciting collaborations, and the joy of seeing our students flourish.
Wishing you a successful and fulfilling new year ahead!

HISD Fundraiser Awareness
HISD often conducts fundraisers through various organizations to enhance student activities/projects. These will always be clearly identified with the organization name and will have contact information. We do not conduct marketing calls to collect money. Please notify us immediately if anyone contacts you to send funds that is not directly through the school or any fundraiser doesn't seem legitimate.
January is School Board Appreciation Month
Celebrating School Board Appreciation Month!
January is a time to honor and recognize the dedication, leadership, and tireless service of our Hardin ISD School Board Trustees. These incredible volunteers play a vital role in shaping the future of education for our students and community.
This year’s theme, “Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas,” highlights the critical role school boards play in preparing students for success in college, careers, and beyond. With over 7,000 school board trustees across Texas, they are the largest group of elected officials in the state, all committed to ensuring that 5.5 million public school children have meaningful opportunities and experiences.
From long hours spent in meetings to advocating for education in their communities and beyond, these leaders are the foundation of our schools’ success. Their work creates brighter futures for all students, and we are grateful for their dedication to Hardin ISD.
Thank you, Hardin ISD School Board Trustees, for being champions of education and community leaders!

ATTENDANCE:

We appreciate your support in ensuring your student is attending school every day and by regularly connecting with your student’s teachers. As you can imagine, attendance is a significant factor concerning student success. The more a student is absent, the increased chance he/she will fail their courses, fall behind in class, and lose a connection with the school. We realize some absences are unavoidable due to health problems or other circumstances. We also know that when students miss too much school— regardless of the reason – it can cause them to fall behind academically.

It is the responsibility of the parent and guardian to make sure their child is attending school daily. We don’t want your child to fall behind in school and get discouraged. Please ensure that your child attends school every day and arrives on time. Here are a few practical tips to help support regular attendance:

  • Ensure your children go to school every day unless they are truly sick.
  • Avoid scheduling vacations or doctor’s appointments when school is in session.
  • Talk to teachers and counselors for advice if your children feel anxious about going to school.
  • Develop back up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, neighbor, or another parent to take your child to school.

Our goal this year is to ensure that every student attends school regularly. Let us know how we can best support you and your children so that they can show up for school on time every day. Working together ensures success for both the school and the students. Please do your part to improve attendance!
